Shoe care recommendations

Your pair of Paraboot shoes has been conceived with top-notch raw materials by expert craftsmen adept at the know-how necessary to make exceptional shoes.

For increased longevity please check out our simple maintenance tips below and adapt them to your own frequency of use.

Basic leather care for smooth, grained, fat, semi-fat, polished leathers:

1. Dust off the leather using a polishing brush.
2. Using a soft cloth, apply cleaning wax evenly on the shoe. Then leave it to rest.
3. Wax the leather with a small portion of polish on a clean cloth. Apply it in a circular motion. If the shoe has Norwegian or Goodyear welt stitching, apply colorless shoe polish using a small applicator brush to make it more waterproof.
4. Buff the leather with a soft bristle brush (polisher type).
5. Polish to a shine with the glove provided for this purpose.

Suede and nubuck leathers:

1. Dust off the leather using a polishing brush.
2. Use a nubuck eraser to remove specks of dirt.
3. If the shoe has Norwegian or Goodyear welt stitching, apply colorless shoe polish using a small applicator brush to make it more waterproof.
4. For nubuck, spray essential oil from a distance of 20 cm across the entire shoe, then leave to soak in. For suede, lift the hairs using a scraper brush.

For both suede and nubuck leathers use a waterproofing aerosol from time to time. Let it penetrate.

Glossy and varnished leathers:

1. Dust off the leather using a polishing brush.
2. Apply Marseille soap evenly to the leather with a soft, warm and damp cloth.
3. Rinse and let the leather dry.
4. Polish with the glove provided for this purpose.

Leather soles:

1. Dust off the leather using a polishing brush.
2. Using a soft cloth, apply cleaning wax evenly to the shoe. Then leave it to rest.
3. Wax the leather with a small portion of polish on a clean cloth. Apply it in a circular motion.

In inclement weather please remember to let your shoes dry sideways, not flat, so as to keep their soles from touching the ground. They will be ready to go once they are dry.

After each wear, place your shoes on shoe trees adapted to their shape and leave them in a temperate room.
