Paraboot women's boots: a combination of authenticity and elegance

Women’s ankle boots are an essential part of your style, whatever the season.

Autumn is setting in, the leaves are turning yellow on the sidewalks, and the air is getting cooler. It’s this precise moment of the year, this seasonal shift, that awakens a familiar desire: to protect your feet without weighing yourself down, to find the perfect balance between warmth and style. It’s time to rediscover your women’s booties.

But did you know that this shoe has a royal history? In the past, the “boot” covered the calf and was reserved for military use. The “bootie”, on the other hand, was still trying to find its place. That all changed in 1837. The young Queen Victoria, annoyed by the complicated laces on her shoes, called for a solution. Her bootmaker, J. Sparkes-Hall, used a recent innovation: vulcanized elastic. The modern boot was born. Practical and easy to slip on, it paved the way for the famous Chelsea Boot.

At Paraboot, we cultivate this heritage. From the Victorian era to the French Alps, one conviction still guides our approach: a shoe can be beautiful, solid and authentic.

Why choose a pair of Paraboot women’s boots?

In an age dominated by fast fashion and programmed obsolescence, choosing a pair of Paraboot boots is an act of opposition. It’s an investment in time, preferring an object that lasts and develops a patina over the years.

Mountain inspiration: a reinvented heritage

While our legitimacy is rooted in the history of our sister brand, Galibier, particularly the “Super Guide” model. Paraboot has imposed its unique style on city streets and even on the catwalks.

In the 1930s, the “Super Guide” model was a sporting feat. Today, we’ve transposed this DNA into women’s dressing. The Avoriaz is not a technical hiking shoe, but it retains the soul and sturdiness to face everyday urban life with total confidence.

It’s this authenticity that makes the difference. When you wear a Paraboot women’s lace-up boot, you’re not wearing an imitation. You’re wearing real walking shoes that have retained all their original robustness.

Uncompromising manufacturing: the secret of Norwegian stitching

Why do our customers stay loyal to Paraboot, year after year? Because they know what lies beneath the leather. Made in our workshops in Saint-Jean-de-Moirans, at the foot of the Alps, each women’s boot is the result of over 150 manual manufacturing steps.

At the heart of this expertise is Norwegian stitching. It’s our signature. Unlike standard glued assemblies, which eventually give way, Norwegian stitching joins the upper to the sole with two visible, robust seams.

This process guarantees exceptional waterproofing, preventing water from seeping even through the seams, and making the shoe extremely sturdy. What’s more, it allows resealing, significantly extending the shoe’s lifespan.

Women’s leather boots: the choice between smooth leather and nubuck

Smooth leather emphasizes minimalist, structured silhouettes. It enhances the lines of women’s leather booties and goes naturally with a suit, straight jeans or a dress. Available in a wide selection of models, it’s easy to wear and combine with your wardrobe.

Nubuck leather, with its finely sanded grain side, has a very fine, almost powdery texture. More resistant than velvet, it perfects a raw, authentic look.

The main families of women’s boots at Paraboot

At Paraboot, we reject the idea of a single style. Aware of the diversity of desires and lifestyles, we design a wide choice of varied collections to harmonize with every stage and moment of life. Whether you’re looking for booties and boots for everyday wear or for special occasions, you’ll find the right model to suit the shape of your foot.

Women’s everyday flat boots: low boots

They’re the staple of the active wardrobe. Women’s flat booties are ideal for strolling around at weekends or working on your feet all day.

Milla

In this category, the Milla model stands out as the standard for understated elegance. It is the perfect definition of low boots: a short upper that leaves the ankle exposed, ideal for those who dislike feeling ‘confined’ or who have strong calves. It elongates the leg and slips easily under any trousers.

Women’s lace-up outdoor boots

Outdoor style is making a comeback. Women’s lace-up booties bring that outdoor character that energizes a silhouette.

The Avoriaz model is the icon of our women’s bootie collection, based on the Galibier codes:

  • Hooks: 4 eyelets and 4 metal hooks for fast, precise lacing.
  • The gusset: A tab sewn into the sides to prevent water, snow or stones from penetrating.
  • The pad: A padded leather reinforcement at the top of the upper to protect the Achilles tendon.

Out of our archives in the ’90s, this boot first seduced our Asian customers in search of authentic products, then the rest of the world in search of city products with a mountain look.

The black women’s boot (Avoriaz Lisse Noir) makes a statement. Its notched soles ensure perfect grip on wet ground. The brown version (Lisse Écorce) is softer and more natural. This is the ultimate all-rounder, one of the season’s must-haves. For those seeking optimum comfort and stability, some of our boots feature a flat sole, far from the inconvenience of a narrow pointed toe.

Victoria’s heritage: chelsea boots

Queen Victoria’s legacy lives on in Chelsea boots, which became style icons in the 1960s thanks to the Beatles. This heritage lives on today with contemporary models such as our Valdaine model.

Valdaine

Valdaine, no laces, just a clean line and sturdy elastic. It looks just as good with a suit as it does with jeans. For a night out, a Chelsea boot adds a sophisticated, preppy touch.

Which colors suit your style?

At Paraboot, we favor organic hues inspired by nature and raw materials. Choose boots in timeless shades.

Snow. Mineral radiance

Daring to wear beige women’s boots in Lisse Neige leather means opting for a clean, natural light. This exceptional leather, both clean and structured, captures the light and brightens winter days. Its graphic surface reveals Paraboot’s expertise and lends relief to even the most sober silhouettes.

Avoriaz

It creates a striking contrast with raw denim, or harmonises with cream knitwear to create a timeless Winter White look, designed to last beyond the seasons.

Bark. The imprint of life

A signature color, Écorce embodies authenticity. This deep brown embellishes with age: it lightens at the creases and darkens with rubbing, creating a unique patina. It warms up gray flannels and instinctively complements autumn.

Black. Urban Architecture

At Paraboot, Black is the obvious choice. In smooth leather, it asserts a graphic, precise and controlled line, where the material reveals all its depth. Timeless by nature, this color crosses the seasons with constant elegance, never yielding to fashion trends.

Clamart

To ensure immediate flexibility, we offer women’s soft leather ankle boots, such as the Clamart model. The leather moulds to the shape of your foot from day one, without the dreaded stiff adjustment period often associated with new shoes.

Versatile and structuring, it goes equally well with sleek silhouettes and more assertive styles, bringing balance and precision to every combination.

Mahogany. Classic boldness

Neither black nor brown, the Mahogany (or Bordeaux) color is in a class of its own. Dense and warm, it is reminiscent of dark woods and weathered leathers. Depending on the light, it is sometimes sober, sometimes expressive, but never ostentatious.

Did you know? Mahogany-colored Paraboot boots were very popular at the Paris markets, particularly at Rungis. Butchers and merchants particularly appreciated this deep, rich hue. It had the advantage of masking marks and stains, including bloodstains, more effectively than lighter leathers, while requiring minimal maintenance.

Gringo. The adventurous texture

The Gringo color is an invitation to travel and to raw materials. This nubuck leather, with its velvety feel and matte finish, is distinguished by its rich nuances and robustness. It adds an immediate touch of character, evoking the outdoor world. Ideal for breaking up an overly conservative outfit, it blends perfectly with textured materials such as corduroy or thick woollens.

Beaumont

These Beaumont ankle boots combine style and technical expertise. Crafted from Gringo nubuck/beige wool with a rubber sole, they feature Norwegian stitching. A durable and elegant investment.

Fauve. Solar heritage

More luminous than brown, Fauve (Gold) tends towards cognac. It’s the “leather goods” shade par excellence, capturing the light and developing an amber patina. A real ray of sunshine in winter gray.

Clamart

The Clamart model. The leather moulds to the shape of your foot from day one, without that dreaded period of adjustment that often comes with new shoes.

Coffee. Sober intensity

Deep, dense and almost black, Café is the choice of subtlety. It offers the dark intensity needed for formal wear, while retaining the organic warmth of brown. On smooth leather, it ages nobly, gaining ebony highlights. It’s the shade for those seeking a sophisticated alternative to black for office or city wear.

How to wear your Paraboot women’s boots?

The strength of Paraboot boots lies in their ability to structure a silhouette. They don’t complicate everyday life, they enhance it. Here are our tips for finding the pair that will work with your style.

Denim architecture: the question of the hem

The secret of a successful silhouette often lies in the meeting between the bottom of the trouser and the top of the shoe. It’s all a question of proportion. It’s a question of proportions.

With the volume of an Avoriaz (L’Esprit Montagne) : To avoid weighing down the leg with an “accordion” effect, hemming is an option. We recommend an outwardly rolled cuff that stops just above the hooks.

Signature detail: A glimpse of a mottled wool sock. A nod to our alpine heritage.

With the finesse of a Valdaine (L’Esprit Chelsea): A more urban approach. You can slip a pair of fitted jeans inside for a continuous line, or opt for straight 7/8 jeans with a clean edge that stops just above the boot.

Balancing masculinity and femininity: the Paraboot signature

The Paraboot signature: the very essence of feminine and masculine balance. The art of combining delicacy and robustness.

Don’t be afraid of contrasting materials. Take a fluid, airy piece – a soft knit sweater dress, a silk midi skirt or a patterned dress – and anchor it to the ground with the grip of our notched soles.

The volume of the shoe balances the lightness of the outfit, giving it body and character. It’s a silhouette in motion, dynamic, that of a woman who gives up neither comfort nor elegance.

The office in motion: active elegance

Times have changed. Today, credibility comes from ease. Choose stable ankle boots like the Beaumont or Valdaine models. Their sleek lines combine naturally with flannel pants or tailored suits. It’s a look that’s ready for the city, reliable and always impeccable. It’s a “working girl” look: a look that’s ready to take on the city, reliable and always impeccable.

Comfort and technology: the secret is inside

When the thermometer shows negative values, the style of boots is no longer enough. That’s when Paraboot’s expertise comes into its own.

The art of the women’s lined boot is Paraboot’s answer to the extreme cold. Drawing on our expertise, we have historically incorporated warmth into some of our models (such as the Austral). These models were often lined with fur, creating a natural, breathable thermal barrier.

We have mastered the art of winter footwear thanks to the quality of our materials. Our thick leathers, combined with our genuine leather linings, create a natural, breathable barrier. But the real secret lies in the foundation: our thick, dense natural rubber soles act as a powerful thermal insulator, radically cutting off the cold that rises from the frozen ground. So your feet stay protected, without compromising on elegance.

The Paraboot winter experience is unique: the feeling of slipping your foot into a cocoon of softness, while keeping a structured outer shoe for the office.

Maintain your Paraboot women’s boots to make them last

Taking care of your Paraboot women’s boots means preserving the very essence of their charm. Extending the life of leather, stabilizing patina and maintaining comfort over time. Leather is a living material. It softens, marks and reacts to humidity and heat.

Adopted on a daily basis, the right gestures will help your shoes age better and preserve the meticulous finish that makes all the difference to your silhouette.

Radiance and nutrition: caring for Paraboot smooth leathers

On smooth, grained, oily, semi-oily or patina leathers, always start by dusting with a polishing brush. Next, apply a cleaning wax evenly with a soft cloth, leave on, then nourish with a small amount of shoe polish using circular movements.

If your pair is mounted with Norwegian or Goodyear stitching, you can reinforce waterproofing by also working the welt with a colorless shoe polish, applied with a shoe polish applicator brush. Finish with a soft bristle brush to bring out the shine, then polish with a glove for a deep, clean finish.

Softness and protection: Paraboot nubuck care

For nubuck. Start by dusting with the polishing brush, then remove localized dirt with a nubuck eraser. Again, if the pair is Norwegian or Goodyear stitched, the welt can be protected with a colorless shoe polish applied with a small shoe polish applicator brush.

Next, spray the entire shoe with a recommended essential oil spray from a distance of about twenty centimetres, then leave to stand. And when you’re on a velvet/suede finish, straighten the pile with a scraper brush. Finally, a waterproofing product applied evenly from time to time helps to limit the absorption of water and stains. And be sure to let it penetrate well before wearing.

Additional tips: shoe trees, drying and storage

Finally, storing your shoes away from direct light and moisture helps preserve colors and materials. We recommend the use of shoe trees made from natural wood, as they help the leather retain its original shape and absorb moisture. Taking care of your Paraboot women’s boots is a simple gesture that respects the material and ensures that the promise of comfort, style and durability lasts.

Choosing Paraboot means opting for a women’s shoe with a strong character. Between the comfort of our rubber soles, the robustness of our Norwegian stitching and the timelessness of our lines inherited from our history. Women’s ankle boots are a wardrobe essential.
