Once again this year, Paraboot is continuing to bring young female artists into its collaborations based around a timeless project celebrating the iconic Marianne image.
The brand was delighted to link a female artist to one of its designs several seasons ago. Entitled "Marianne", this line is now a Paraboot springtime classic. An opportunity to rediscover the brand's iconic designs through the eyes of an artist.
We are therefore delighted to bring you this new "Marianne 2023" collaboration with the artist Pandora Decoster, a painter and surfer from the west coast of France. Pandora is a young painter who loves nature, colours and the ocean. After an exciting career in surfing, she has now plunged into the beautifully elegant world of art.
"I have been fascinated by the ocean and drawing ever since I was little. I grew up near the Basque coast in Biarritz, where I was lulled to sleep by my painter mother and the sound of the waves. At the age of 16, I got the opportunity to travel all over the world to represent my sponsor, Roxy. I shot surfing films in California and Australia, as well as photoshoots in New York and Hawaii. I also worked with them on artistic projects at home in France. It was an incredible life that enabled me to surf the world's best waves, meet lots of artists and believe in myself. After a trip to Australia in 2017, I decided to become a painter. It took 2 years of research and experimenting to find my own artistic language. I've been making a living from my paintings for 3 years now, and it really is the best kind of freedom."
For this collaboration as well as in her own artistic work, Pandora Decoster has taken her inspiration from her favourite colours and places in her region, giving us a taste of her world.
Inspired by the Paraboot Orsay model, the Vincennes loafer is a lightweight, versatile and stylish model for an effortlessly smart look after an exhilarating surfing session or for balmy summer nights out. This model is made from leather in nude colours reminiscent of sunsets, along with a honey sole like the warm sand on ocean beaches.
